Project Description

B-Side: Audiovisual essays new series

B-Side is the name of an audiovisual essays new series  undertaken with the help of Fundación Juan March. The first episode is an exciting visual experiment that starts with the exhibition Los Irascibles: Painters against the museum. New York, 1950 (2020, Fundación Juan March). It had to be canceled last March due to the covid-19 pandemic. This unique circumstance -a group of art works painted by some artists who protested in 1950 precisely because they were not being exhibited, and who half a century later are exhibited but cannot be seen – is the starting point of the first episode of B-Side.

The act that traditionally opens the exhibitions could not be held in March either. Seven months later, the journalist Lara Siscar leads a very special session at Fundación Juan March that includes the screening of Los irascibles, for the second time and will be followed by a discussion with Inés Vallejo, Beatriz Cordero, Manuel Fontán del Junco – curators of the exhibition – and some of the creators and artists participating in the video essay. This event can be followed live on CanalMarch.
